The Peek guide
Study notes on Apple Watch: revision and permitted reference
Apple Watch study notes can hold a short definition, vocabulary cue or reminder to review a topic before class. Use Peek for preparation and permitted reference. A school’s permission to use notes does not by itself allow a smartwatch in an assessment.

Turn study material into recall prompts
Pick a small topic and write a question in your own words. Try to explain the answer before checking your material on iPhone or paper. This is a way to organize revision, not a promise of better grades.
Keep full explanations, diagrams and worked examples in your regular study material. Peek displays text you prepare on iPhone. Don’t expect PDF import, image notes or an automatic flashcard quiz.
- Vocabulary: “Explain the difference between affect and effect”
- History: “What changed after the treaty?”
- Science: “Define the term, then give an example”
- Revision plan: “Review the question I could not explain”
Use a cheat sheet only when the format allows it
“Cheat sheet” often means a permitted reference summary. A teacher might allow one paper page and still prohibit watches, phones or digital notes. Ask about both the material and the device before an assessment or class presentation.
For the SAT, College Board lists smartwatches among prohibited devices, subject to approved accommodations. Check your own exam’s instructions; a Reddit comment or another school’s policy may not apply.
Prepare for a class presentation
When the teacher allows notes and your device, use a short opening, the next topic and a closing reminder. Rehearse aloud with the actual watch rather than trying the controls for the first time in front of the class.
If reference notes are not permitted, practice without them and follow the device policy. Peek does not provide live answers, exam permission or a way to make banned material acceptable.
Questions
Can I use an Apple Watch cheat sheet in an exam?
Only the assessment organizer can authorize reference material and devices. Many exams prohibit smartwatches; do not use Peek where the device or notes are banned.
Does an open-book exam allow smartwatches?
Not necessarily. Open-book describes allowed materials, and a separate device policy may still prohibit watches. Check the written instructions or ask the organizer.
Can Peek show study notes before a test?
Yes, it can display short text cues prepared on iPhone. Follow the testing site’s rules about when devices must be stored; restrictions can also cover breaks.
