The Peek guide
How a discreet, hidden cheat sheet works on Apple Watch
A discreet cheat sheet is a short personal reference you can check when notes are allowed. Peek keeps prepared notes hidden on Apple Watch until you tilt to read, then hides them as you level your wrist. It is a memory aid for talks, meetings and everyday reminders.

What “hidden cheat sheet” means in Peek
In Peek, hidden notes stay out of view until you tilt to reveal them. A “secret watch notes” app can still show text to someone beside you while you read.
Write the cue on iPhone, send it to your paired Apple Watch, double-tap the watch screen in Peek to prepare it, then tilt forward to read. Level your wrist to hide the note. Multiple notes and additional gesture controls require Plus.
Keep the details that matter
Keep the figure you need to quote accurately, or a phrase that brings back your next point. Try five to ten words per cue, then adjust after rehearsal. That’s a suggestion, not a limit.
- A presentation: “Pilot completion — 35.1%, not the final result”
- A meeting: “Ask Maya about the revised delivery date”
- An introduction: “Jordan Lee — community project lead”
- A rehearsal: “Pause here, then introduce the example”
Discreet notes, phone notes or a locked note?
A full outline belongs on a screen large enough to read comfortably. Peek is useful when you prepare on iPhone and need only a brief cue on the watch. It does not turn your iPhone into a hidden overlay or a scrolling teleprompter.
If your goal is to protect passwords or sensitive documents, choose storage with the security controls you need. Visual hiding is different from locking or encrypting a note. Keep sensitive information out of a speaking cue sheet.
Can a hidden cheat sheet be used in school or at poker?
A hidden display does not make prohibited assistance acceptable. For school, use notes for revision or a presentation where the teacher permits both notes and a smartwatch. Permission to bring a paper reference sheet does not automatically permit an electronic device.
At poker, use study notes away from active play and outside restricted tournament areas. The 2026 WSOP rules prohibit advantage-giving electronic assistance in the tournament room. Peek is not a way to bypass those rules. Other organizers set their own conditions.
Questions
Is Peek an undetectable cheat sheet?
No. Peek does not guarantee that people cannot notice your watch or read its screen. It is a prepared-note memory aid, not an evasion tool.
Does a hidden note mean it is password protected?
No. Hidden describes the reveal-and-hide display interaction. It does not establish encryption, a separate note lock or protection from someone with device access.
Can I use a discreet cheat sheet for a presentation?
Yes, when the presentation permits reference notes and the device you use. Prepare only the cues you need and rehearse with them.
Can I use Peek for exam cheating or poker cheating?
Peek is intended for permitted reference and preparation. Do not use it to access banned material, gain prohibited assistance or evade device rules.
